Generating Reviews

Hello, all. I was wondering if anyone had any likely ideas for getting a book reviewed for a new author such as myself. I have posted the novel on BookBuzzr, and am going to solicit a review from a professor of mine, and I'm going to send copies to three or four nearby newspapers asking to have Endure reviewed.

  1. Publishing is all about networking. I'd probably start at following a few hundred agent and writer's blogs and commenting on them regularly. Then I'd find my competition. I'd search out all the other authors in my same genre, befriend them, and after a good while of said friendship, ask them if they don't mind giving you a prepublication blurb or recommendation.

However, if you just mean review as in edit, I'd hit up local writer's groups or take a creative writing course or two. An excellent resource for both editing and publication is Les Edgerton's blog. http://www.lesedgertononwriting.blogspot.com/

    Hope that helps.
